Today I Learned A New Move At The Rink!

Today i got on for public skate . I got picked up from school so i had to change in the bathroom stalls. I put on my favorite sweat shirt its black, it has a figure skater on it, and it says go figure. I got on the ice. I couldn't skate around the rink because people were going really fast. I mostly just skated around until figure skating. When we got off the ice for figure skating to start and we stretched. Once the Zamboni was off we got on the ice.

In public skate there were these huge bumps off on the side of the ice and we were glad to see that they were gone. I skated around for a while. I told my mom i wanted to do a two foot spin so she showed me how. After a little bit i started to do it right. My mom started recording me i did it a few more times and finally i got it! I was so happy but then we found out her phone only recorded the end of it. I practiced for a while then got discouraged. After i did it for a while and finally got it back my mom recorded again and we got the perfect video!

My mom asked if i wanted to leave because there were only a few minutes left. I said no because i wanted to practice more. I tried to do cross overs but i couldn't so i went back to my 2 foot spin. Finally the buzzer went off and the Zamboni came on. We left the ice and i was tired i took my skate off and my toes were as hard as a rock because we'd been there so long and my feet get cold every time i just don't think of it or seem to notice it.

We came home and i got my spinner out my mom said "WAIT!" " don't do anything i want to record it". So she recorded me do my camel spin (she couldn't do it), a basic  one foot spin, and a sit spin (sort of). Off ice training is as important as on ice training. My mom said you only have two choices you either quit or you keep going

My Skate Bag, Skates and Off Ice Skate Spinner

My Skate Bag and Figure Skates

These are my competition skates and skate bag. I got my skate bag for Christmas and my mom ordered my skates on ebay.


 My skate bag is blue with skates and my name on it. My skates are Reidell 32's - Youth bronze stars competition skates - spinning, jumping to intermediate skating.

The soakers i have on my skates, have little hamburgers on them and my mom made them. They're so cute! Also i have a spinner you can get spinners made out of wood and plastic. I have a wooden one with green sparkle paper on top. Spinners help you practice your spinning. I've been practicing on my spinner yesterday i put on a song threw my hair up and practiced until 7:00. My spinner has helped me improve in my skating im skating much better now.

Today, I did Great Figure Skating!

My first post. I want to keep track of my skating life so my Mom thought a blog would be a good way to do it. So here I am.

Today was my 8th time skating EVER! I went out on the ice and I was wobbly. I skated for a bit, then public skate was over we went off and took care of our skates. Then we went on after the Zamboni was off. I skated for a bit again. After my Mom started noticing i was skating on my picks (again) we tried to work on it for a bit.  I didn't really improve. So we worked on something else i showed my mom what I thought was my camel spin which turned out to be a spiral.

 I started working on my backwards swizzles. I started to do it, then my Mom showed me a totally NEW thing it was a half swizzle. I got better at doing it one way so i tried it on the other. After a while i had them both pretty good so she showed me to another COOL thing we don't really know what its called. Its were yo lean on one bent knee when the other one is strait out you turn it into a spin and then switch so its the other way i practiced that for a while and i was getting better at all my other stuff!

Finally we went to Job Lot to get a new coat that my Mom saw. We walked in and found it it was a fleece jacket there were green ones, Baby blue ones, Orange, Gray, white, and black. We chose the white one because we thought it matched the ice and was pretty. I can't wait to skate in my new skating jacket!!
